Travel Packing Tips from Brooks Brothers

Getting your life in order before a business trip can be stressful.  Save your energy for the actual business by assuming you've made all the essential preparations.  Here are a few helpful packing  tips from the experts at Hartmann to make your trip run smooth.

  • When selecting your wardrobe think coordinating solids, wrinkle-resistent microfibers and versatile shoes.  Light colored fabrics show stains, but are cooler than darker colors.
  • Suit jackets are notoriously tricky to pack.  Start by turning half of the jacket inside out and tucking the other half inside so that only the inner lining is exposed.  The shoulders will nestle in one another to protect their shape.  Gently fold the jacket in half using care to ensure the sleeves and lapels and place in the suitcase.
  • If traveling abroad, exchange money ahead of time for incidentals, i.e.taxi, snacks, and entertainment.
  • Sometimes one charger just won't cut it.  If having power for your gadget is essential, carry both a plug-in charger and one that operates solely on batteries.
