CALIFORNIA DREAMING…..
On such a winters day? Okay, more like fall…this weather is not the norm if you are a Californian! I’ve lived here all my life and just experienced the coldest graduation ceremony-ever! Thank goodness I had my scarf/wrap for all of us to share. Last year, at a friend’s graduation the seats were so hot -no one could sit down!
My point is…this June weather is not extreme-just strange for this time of year. If there is one thing you need for this surreal weather it’s the all purpose scarf. In my opinion, there are three types of Scarf’s you must own.
#1- The fabulous French style- worn just around the neck-perfect for that upscale evening and office look or just tie to your purse!
#2- The full neck scarf—I have a ton of these! I just bought a tie-dye design at Urban Outfitters-they have many styles. You can also find scarf’s at Chico‘s, Ted Baker and note: BCBG is having a 30% off sale through the weekend!
These scarfs are so handy; I keep one in my car at all times. In fact, it’s not just trendy it’s an essential for the cool summer evenings. I’ve discovered, The Row carries scarf’s for everyone—in every design, color, pattern , size or texture. You can wrap around your neck two times or let it hang and blow in the summer wind…
#3- The wrap/scarf - a cozy, warm shoulder ‘toss around.’ I scored a gorgeous black (almost cashmere) wrap at H&M under $20! I also purchased a wrap with sleeves -great idea and so cool because it works with many of my existing wardrobe pieces.
My mission is to find a wrap in coral, pink or blue-since these are the “colors of summer!” Once I buy this hot accessory, the heat will return but that’s okay since we still need scarf’s for some cool summer nights.
Until then, I’m in my new white jeans and tie die scarf! Hope to see you shopping at the row…scarf or no scarf—It’s still the best place to be sans summer weather. We all know that summer is coming soon…better late then never!
