Meet the “Take Home Chef”

Hot Aussie chef Curtis Stone-aka The Learning Channel’s “Take Home Chef”-will be the latest in a long line of celebrity chefs to visit Santana Row when he stops by next Saturday, April 11 to promote his new cookbook Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone.

While Stone-who you may have seen cooking with Hoda & Kathie Lee on The Today Show or with the grande dame herself, Martha Stewart-has cooked in some of the top restaurants in Australia and the U.K., he’s really just a laid-back, easy going guy in the kitchen. And that’s what the book (his third) is all about: how to have fun and take it easy while cooking up a yummy gourmet meal.

I suggest eating before you check out the table of contents, because you’ll be drooling over his Pan-Fried Calamari with Roasted Asparagus and his Sticky Chicken Drumsticks and Slow-cooked Brisket in a Bourbon BBQ Sauce. Oh, and for dessert, how about Brownie Cupcakes or Caramelized Nectarines with Yogurt and Honey, or maybe… Homemade Salted Caramel Popcorn?

Yes, please. I’ll take two of everything.

Stone’s visit starts with a cooking demo in Santana Row Park at 2 p.m. Then, he will be at Sur La Table right across the way signing copies of the book.

This isn’t a ticketed event, but here’s the deal: if you want an autographed book, you do have to buy your copy at Sur La Table at Santana Row.  The books will be available in store starting on April 7. Give the store a call if you have questions or need more info - 408-244-4749.
