STYLE WATCH BY HMM: The Futures So Bright…
I must have huge sunglasses! I just spent three days in LA for a fashion photo-shoot event and then made my way to Rodeo Drive to “style watch” of course! I was with a few models and photographers for a photo-shoot and we couldn’t help notice that everyone in LA was wearing ginormous sunglasses! We took a walk down Rodeo Drive and witnessed men, women, teens and celebrities (only saw two) - were all modeling huge, round, oversized sunglasses. No matter how ridiculous they look, I wanted a pair immediately! I shopped in many stores and enjoyed Rodeo’s whimsical window displays and sunshine. However, to my dismay there are no bargains on Rodeo Drive and my Visa stayed cool. Other then huge and fabulous sunglasses—the two biggest summer looks are: The bohemian casual- (denim and flip flops) or the celebrity starlet- (jumpsuit and platforms). The hottest trend is “HOLES”-lots of ripped holes on faded or dark jeans, worn with studded tank tops. White handbags and huge circular sunglasses seem to be the VIP look of the summer.
I finally made it home to San Jose and couldn’t wait to hit The Row for my continued search for ultra chic shades. All I could think of was how much I enjoy strolling Santana Row and its warm, clean and friendly ambiance. There are some fabulous similarities between Rodeo and The Row such as: beautiful window displays, hip stores, stylish trends on every corner, sunshine and plenty of gorgeous people! However, The Row has the best ‘stroll’ appeal on the west coast; you can meet, eat, shop, drink, dance and sleep here. No need to go to Rodeo Drive where they charge for parking!
I made my way to OAKLEY, BEAU BIJOU, GUCCI, BURBERRY, TOD’S and H&M in search of my own celebrity shades. I found the perfect oversized, orange pair at Sunglass on The Row. I knew the moment I put them on -I was somebody with a bright future. I autographed the Visa receipt and smiled when I noticed my huge savings. I’m definitely celebrating my ridiculous new attitude this summer at Santana Row!
