The Simple Things in Life

There are simple things in life that may be small, but they have a huge impact on your self-esteem.  Having a high value of your own self worth is vital.  Certain things affect your self-esteem, and it is important to sort through your life and choose to do things that make you feel good about yourself, rather than dwell on the negative aspects of life.

I am referring to instances that happen sporadically throughout life that can cause one to get down on themselves, and lower self-esteem.  It is important to stay motivated and inspired by what makes you happy, and listen to your body, even when dealing with common problems everyone face.

Recently, I had my car taken into the body shop for repairs, and have felt an overwhelming need to start working out at the gym.  These are not huge issues at all, but my mind had a way of telling me that I was not in a good place because I feel out of shape and my car is broken.  However, what I have done to ease the anxiety is work on the problems head on, and realize that they are only temporary, not permanent.

I notice some people dwelling on aspects of life that cause them distraction, and their vision of reality is hazed over by doubt and fear.  The key to living a meaningful, successful, and creative life is to open your mind and not let little things bother you when your overall picture of life should be much greater in comparison to the negative.

Example.  My car is in the shop, but I get to drive a nice rental car.  Score!  I feel like I need to go to the gym, so guess what, I am going, and I went to the grocery store and bought food that will help me reach my goal.  Perfect.  Goals are so vital in life they should be required!  My personal goals got me where I am today.  If you do not have any, now is the time to make some.

Sometimes it is nice just to tell yourself that you are your own unique person, and that your life is not in shambles because you have one or two things going wrong.  Instead, tell yourself that your problems are what make you a stronger person, and they will teach you life lessons that apply to future aspects of your life.

I have not posted a quote in my blog series so far, so I plan to start with this one:  “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”  - Dr. Seuss

Have a productive day!  See you next week!
