What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage uses similar strokes to Swedish massage. While Swedish is a very surface oriented style; deep tissue aims for the deeper muscles and connective tissue, often referred to as fascia. Many of the techniques are similar to Swedish, however, the pressure will tend to be more intense and focused. Therapists specializing in Deep Tissue focus on releasing chronic muscle tension and knots.
